Buckeye Lake State Park

Buckeye Lake, constructed as a canal feeder lake in 1826, is Ohio's oldest state park. The park has long been a popular vacation spot and today offers endless water-related recreational opportunities including swimming, skiing, boating and fishing. Dillon Lake

Dillon State Park

The wooded hills and scenic valleys of the Dillon State Park area offer a picturesque setting for outdoor adventure. Whether boating the quiet coves and inlets of the lake or hiking the forest trails, you'll have an outstanding recreational experience at 2,285-acre Dillon State Park. Activities include Hiking, Horseback Riding, Mountain Biking, Archery, Swimming, Disc Golf, Volleyball, Basketball, and Boating. Park Map.

Flint Ridge State Memorial

Flint Ridge Ancient Quarries & Nature Preserve is a 533 acre preserve. Hike the trails and see ancient pits left by America Indians who came here to quarry flint. A picnic area with tables, grills, drinking water and restrooms is available for visitors to the quarry. The Flint Ridge Museum is also on this site.

Morris Woods

Morris Woods State Nature Preserve

The Morris Woods State Nature Preserve is located 2.5 miles northeast of Johnstown at 7495 Dutch Lane. This 107-acre forest (mostly beech-maple)  also features a small lake and wetland area and hiking trail. No Pets are permitted on State Nature Preserve properties.

Newark Earthworks

Newark Earthworks

The Newark Earthworks are the largest set of geometric earthen enclosures in the world. The Great Circle Earthworks: Formerly known as Moundbuilders State Memorial, is nearly 1,200 feet in diameter and was likely used as a vast ceremonial center by its builders. The visitor center and picnic areas are located at 455 Hebron Rd., Heath, OH 43056.
